Claire Matten | CCIM/SIOR

Commercial Real Estate Advisor, Lic. #RRE-RBS-LIC-61331

Bio

It’s no surprise that Claire Matten held a leadership role with the University of Montana’s volleyball team for four years. “It wasn’t because I was the best player, I know that,” she says.

The reason? A natural aptitude for guidance. It’s this ability that makes Claire an anchor on the SterlingCRE Advisors team. A long-time co-host of Hey, What’s That Missoula, Claire is most likely to offer a hand up whenever she can.

In college, her natural urge to assist others inspired her to consider traditional helping professions. But when she graduated, Claire started her career in the real estate realm. And there, she found deep satisfaction and sense of purpose in guiding clients to reach their goals in commercial real estate.

“Commercial real estate can be intimidating, so I’m always working to make people feel comfortable. I love empowering clients to make confident, informed decisions.”

Background

With a background totaling over $500 million in team transactions, Claire is versed in CRE complexities. As a part of the Cushman & Wakefield capital markets team in Phoenix, Arizona, she worked with institutional clients, honing her expertise in industrial development, commercial office space, and self-storage properties.

She continues to support projects of all sizes across Montana, dedicating her efforts to bringing every property to the market correctly. “I love the commercial realm of real estate. The people you meet, the projects you work on, understanding each deal…  it’s all fascinating.”

Claire is one of only a handful of women endorsed as a CCIM in the state of Montana. She balanced work, after-hours classes, and family life as she pursued the designation. Connections from the program keep paying off as a national interest in Montana grows. She’s also the only woman in Montana to hold a Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) designation. Her robust education and transaction savvy led to her selection as a GlobeSt Woman of Influence in 2022 in the Investment Sales category.

Claire spends her off time with her husband Eric and their three children. A native Californian, she’s hoping an In-N-Out Burger will set up shop in Missoula so she can give her family a taste of home.

What clients say about Claire

“We’ve dealt with a number of CRE agents, brokers and of course advisors. Claire is one of the good ones. She knows her market, she has vision and she’s a deal-maker.”
