The Armory Hotel makes a splash in Bozeman, the community development block grant deadline spring cycle opens up, and fast food joints are making big moves across the state. Hey, What’s That Montana? The Sterling Commercial Real Estate team is here to give you the inside scoop! Get updates on all dirt moving across the Big Sky state and lots of Montana CRE projects.

First up, something everyone can use: funding! Montana cities looking for economic development funds for things like housing studies, market analysis, and other growth planning can now apply for the Community Development Block Planning Grant. The application cycle is open until mid-June. A match is required, but up to fifty thousand dollars is available for local governments. Link here.

And next, something else we can all enjoy – at least in moderation. There’s a big crop of fast food restaurants springing up across the state. Chik fil A announced new locations in Billings and Missoula, Five Guys is planning to open a space on 10th Avenue South in Great Falls, and a Slim Chickens is open on Prospect Avenue in Helena. While we love our Montana-made restaurants, we’re also a pretty big fan of how convenient the Panera Bread location next to our Missoula office is on busy days.

Across Montana

In Bozeman, the Armory Hotel has been open for a while now and one of Sterling’s Bozeman advisors recently took a tour. Sounds like Montana visitors now have the option to experience a lux getaway without ever leaving the hotel. With three restaurants, a music venue, a rooftop pool, Peloton bikes, and even seasonal book recommendations, it might be time for a little staycation at the Armory hotel.

Finally, following a trend across the state, Glacier Park International Airport approved a terminal expansion. The project will triple the size of the current facility. This will take the airport from 75,000 square feet up to 200,000 square feet. GPIA joins Bozeman , Helena, Billings Logan, and the Missoula Airports in recent terminal renovations. These expansions will meet the growing demand for air travel to and from Montana.
