Sarah Knobel
Brand Marketing Director
Bio
“Weirdest job interview ever,” Sarah Knobel says about the first time she met with the Sterling CRE team. Why? At the time, she was nine months pregnant. “It was strange to interview knowing that my next few months were booked solid. It was a unique way to test myself, even if I bombed the interview.”
But she didn’t bomb the interview. Sarah and the Sterling team spoke the same language of community development, data-driven marketing, and a commitment to excellence. Just a few days later, Sarah had her son. A few months later, she started at Sterling CRE Advisors as Brand Marketing Director.
Driven to take risks in unknown territory has driven her professional trajectory. As a new college graduate, she balanced night shifts at a downtown pub with a day job at the Missoula Chamber of Commerce.
After moving on to graduate school at the University of Montana, she spent several years working on campus in constituent relations, marketing, and events. Then, she entered the private sector as a PR consultant for infrastructure and construction projects.
“Commercial real estate and construction have a lot in common when it comes to communicating effectively. You’ve got these big, complex projects that the public can see taking shape, and that inspires a lot of questions,” she says. “I love helping people understand what’s happening in their communities.”
From digital strategy to media relations, Sarah focuses on bringing clear, useful content to the forefront.
“Sterling’s library of economic data doesn’t just give our clients an edge – it’s a powerful tool for communities across the state. Healthy growth comes from making decisions backed by data and research.”
What about outside of the office? Sarah spends her time gardening and watching an absurd amount of TikTok videos. A sixth-generation Montanan, she’s a big fan of all the outdoor recreation the state has to offer, including lots of hikes with her family.
